Henryk Gajewski

artist, filmmaker - born in 1948 in Bialystok, lives in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Creator of a unique artistic concepts; Art Child, Ahead of Facts Theory (Teoria Przedfaktów) and Interpersonal Art Theory. Conceptualist, active in many creative fields such as photography, film, performance, happening, mail art, audio art, video art, Internet. His work has been exhibited in museums, inter alia, the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Le Centre Pompidou Paris, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, MACBA Barcelona, Centraal Museum Utrecht, Amsterdam Verzetsmuseum. Founder and animator of Remont Gallery in Warsaw (1972-1979), Post Remont (1979-1981). Inventor and publisher of art zines, newsletters and a series of books, such as Post, Trans Remont Express, Art Text. Participant of Documenta 6 in Kassel, FIU (1977). Creator of I am - International Artists Meeting (1978) - the first in Central and Eastern Europe international performance art demonstration. Author of the first artistic Internet action in Poland - No War, YES... (1995) as well as artistic films and documentaries (1979 - 2012): Blinking, Pink, Audio Trap, Passenger, Tilt Back, Identity, I am standing here, Otto & Bernard, The New Monument, 10 x Pugliese.
