Barbara Kozłowska (1940-2008) graduated from the Art Academy PWSSSP in Wrocław (diploma: Architectural Paintings for the Design of the Pantomime Theatre in Ceramic Technique) in 1965. She participated in 70th anniversary events at the 70th Symposium Wrocław 70 and the Biennale of the Spatial Forms in Elblag. In 1972 she launched the Babel Gallery at her private studio. Babel Gallery was an autonomous meeting place of independent art movement (opened until 1982). Kozłowska often used ephemeral, hardly perceptible, disinterested gestures in her art. The artist’s activities usually took the form of performance and elusive spatial interventions. Since 1970 she realized the project called ‘Borderline’ by travelling to SIberia, UK, Malta, Italy, France, Netherlands, former Yugoslavia, Germany and USA.
